Whether you are searching for an entire art curriculum or simply a few individual painting classes to compliment another art program you are studying, you will find everything you are looking for right here at our online art schools.

Independent study students will find our art programs offer a complete painting course to help nurture creative interests. Our online art classes are video based, and offer creative challenges, technical lessons, art history, color theory and skill building exercises for the self-motivated student.

The best way to understand and appreciate art is to observe art being created. In each of our online classes, step by step video demonstrations can be viewed over and over. Classrooms are open 24/7, all year! Techniques are demonstrated, concepts are explained and the student can paint along with the instructor at their own pace, right from home.

Other Suggested Classes:

  • Tier One expanded painting course includes a wide variety of historical content. Beginning with art history relative to prehistoric man, art lessons on cultures and artistic styles, painting lessons and the history of color theory make this comprehensive course an interesting study for all artists. See the individual historical designs as shown above. This course helps the student understand the visual arts in relation to culture and history and meets one of the most important international standards for learning art. This course includes art works from the following styles; Prehistoric, Greek, Pre - Colombian, and Roman. Tier One may be approached as a progressive course or as independent studies, one class at a time.
  • 'The Core' painting course teaches the foundation for traditional painting studies. It explores all the formal elements of art and color theory. The Core concentrates on the discipline of painting. This course helps the student understand and apply acrylic media, learn multiple techniques and explore the painting processes used to create different styles of painting. The Core may be approached as a progressive course or as independent study classes, one class or artistic concept at a time.

 

Special Program License For Schools

Public, private and charter schools may purchase an annual user license. This school license gives the school's art department or art teacher unlimited access to our Tier One and Tier Two Core online video classes and text lesson plans for a period of 12 months. License fees vary by the number of users, i.e. school district, school and class size. Our online resources provide a valuable asset for teaching painting to art students. The school teacher at the local level acts as the facilitator for the program.

Our online art programs use standardized language and techniques for learning to paint and help facilitate the student wishing to pursue art or painting for recreation and/or a formal art career. What's Next? Continuing education for artists...

After completing the Tier One and Tier Two Core classes, students have the choice to choose different artistic paths. Beyond the Tier Two Core, each of the online classes offered at either the Traditions Art School and our sister school, Art Apprentice Online Art School, include comprehensive text and video art lessons, interactive teacher/student forums that support painting lessons and are there for continued art education. Subjects are varied and students may again work along at their own pace.
